The Ministry of Social Affairs continues its support for poor families during the month of Ramadan

Similar to previous years, and in an effort to ensure food security for vulnerable citizens, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Solidarity announced the launch of food basket distributions to poor families and those with limited income, especially in the interior regions.
It is expected that about 5,000 families, including a total of 30,000 individuals, will benefit from these chains, which include basic foodstuffs such as rice, sugar, flour, oil, and others.
This annual campaign, which the Ministry of Social Affairs has been organizing annually in this blessed season, aims to alleviate the suffering of vulnerable segments of society and enable them to spend the month of Ramadan in a favorable atmosphere.
In this regard, teams from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Solidarity carried out transportation operations of food commodities scheduled to be distributed to residents of villages and rural towns in various regions.
This initiative highlights the government’s commitment, under the guidance of the President of the Republic, Mr. Ismail Omar Guelleh, to effectively meet the needs of citizens, especially during this holy month, which is characterized as a month of solidarity and cohesion among people, providing assistance to the poor and needy, and strengthening social ties and solidarity among members of society.
According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, these distributions of food baskets also reflect the social policy pursued by the President of the Republic, who attaches utmost importance to national solidarity.
In general, Ramadan food baskets are an effective way to enhance social welfare and achieve solidarity and social justice, especially for families and individuals who face financial difficulties during this blessed month.
