Djibouti signs agreements with the Republics of Angola and Benin

The Embassy of the Republic of Djibouti in Addis Ababa hosted a ceremony to sign agreements between the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Mahmoud Ali Yusuf, and his counterparts from the Republics of Angola and Benin.
In this context, the Minister signed, beginning with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Angola, Mr. Tite Antonio, three agreements that reflect the desire of the presidents of the two countries to diversify areas of cooperation between Djibouti and Angola.
In a step that embodies the commitment of the two countries to work together to promote development in key areas, the two ministers first concluded a cooperation agreement, affecting - in particular - the economic, technical, social and scientific fields.
Subsequently, the head of Djiboutian diplomacy signed with his Angolan counterpart a memorandum of understanding regarding political consultations, stressing the importance of dialogue and cooperation between Djibouti and Angola.
Finally, a “mutual visa exemption” agreement for diplomatic passports and service passports was signed between the two countries.
It should be noted that the conclusion of these three aforementioned agreements represents a living witness to the readiness of Djibouti and Angola to strengthen bilateral relations, which paves the way for mutually beneficial and lasting cooperation, as confirmed by Ministers Mahmoud Ali Yusuf and Tite Antonio.
On the same day, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Government Spokesman, on another occasion, signed an agreement with his counterpart from the Republic of Benin, Mr. Olushgun Adjade, also relating to the mutual exemption of visa for holders of diplomatic and service passports. Which would strengthen ties between the two countries.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation noted that this major step reflects Djibouti's vision as a regional partner committed to promoting peace, stability and development in Africa.
