The President of Guinea-Bissau is on a visit to Djibouti

Yesterday, Wednesday, at the Presidential Palace, the President of the Republic, Mr. Ismail Omar Guella, received the President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Mr. Amr Sissoko Embalo, who arrived in the country yesterday on an official visit lasting 48 hours, at the invitation of the President of the Republic.
  Following the official reception ceremony, the President of the Republic held a bilateral meeting with President Amr Sissoko Embalo in which they reviewed bilateral relations, in addition to regional issues of common interest.
After that, the two sides held an expanded working session during which they discussed the prospects for second cooperation between the two countries. This session resulted in a “framework agreement for cooperation based on common values, mutual benefits, and a balance of the interests of the two countries.”
The President of the Republic pointed out that “the fragmentation of African economies is no longer acceptable, especially in the face of the vital needs of our people, which cannot be met without establishing close cooperation between our countries.”
The President of the Republic expressed his hope that the “institutional framework for cooperation” adopted between the two countries would allow the establishment of sectoral partnerships, especially in the areas of trade, transportation, education, fishing, agriculture, health, energy....”
For his part, President Amr Embalo noted “the many similarities between the Republic of Djibouti and the Republic of Guinea Bissau,” and called for “achieving a greater level of exchanges, solidarity, mutual assistance and integration between his country and the Republic of Djibouti,” noting that he “issued firm instructions to his government with the aim of effectively and quickly implementing partnerships.” Cooperation from now on with the Republic of Djibouti.
Today, Thursday, the President of Guinea-Bissau is scheduled to deliver a speech before representatives of Parliament at the headquarters of the National Assembly. He will also conduct an inspection tour of the port infrastructure and free zones in Djibouti.
