This high-level honor comes in recognition of the role of Dr. Nabil Mohamed Ahmed and his steadfast commitment to the success of the project to launch the first satellite for Djibouti last November, as his leadership and dedication played an effective role in transforming this initiative into a tangible reality on the ground, which represents an important step in scientific progress. and technology for the Djiboutian people.
In addition to his impressive contribution to the satellite project, the Minister of Higher Education and Research played a key role in promoting and encouraging key educational, research and innovation projects in Djibouti, and also actively contributed to the opening of the Djibouti Regional Climate Observatory and the Regional Summit on Climate Change.
In a related context, the Prime Minister, Mr. Abdelkader Kamel Mohamed, awarded the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, Mr. Abu Bakr Hassan - during an official event held at the Prime Ministry - the June 27 Medal with the rank of Officer.
A similar honor was also given to Professor Laurent Dussault, Director of the Space Center at the University of Montpellier.
In the same context, the June 27 Knight Medal was awarded to the Djiboutian engineers who brilliantly launched the first satellite for Djibouti.
