
The Minister of Defense visits the battalion heading to Somalia

The Minister of Defence, Mr. Hassan Omar Mohamed, headed to Mrema Camp, located in Weaa district, where the Hill 11 Battalion, which is preparing to head to Somalia in the near future, is stationed.
At the beginning of the occasion, the Minister of Defense in charge of relations with Parliament, accompanied by the Chief of General Staff, reviewed the military units, especially the Hill Battalion, which has been undergoing intensive training for three months, before heading to Somalia, within the African Union peacekeeping mission in Somalia known as “ATMIS.”
In this regard, the commander of this battalion briefed the Minister of Defense and members of the delegation accompanying him on the nature of the ongoing training at Mrema Camp, which aims to enhance the battalion’s capabilities, pointing out that its members have successfully passed the intensification phase and the operational readiness phase.
Defense Minister Ali stressed that our country has not and will not stop working for the stability of brotherly Somalia, which has been torn apart by years of war and terrorism.
Mr. Hassan Omar Mohamed added, “Despite all the difficulties, our men, in addition to their praiseworthy efforts of a humanitarian nature on behalf of our Somali brothers, were able to liberate several towns and restore security in the area under their responsibility.
