Djibouti calls for dialogue and de-escalation between Somalia and Ethiopia

The extremely tense situation between the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia called on the Republic of Djibouti to call on the two parties to reduce the language of escalation between them, as there is a state of tension between the two sides controlling the situation.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation affirmed Djibouti’s deep commitment, as the current Chairman of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), to preserving the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of all member states, as a fundamental principle, as stipulated in the IGAD Treaty and the Constitutive Act of the African Union.
Through this statement, Djibouti also called on the two brotherly countries to give priority to the dialogue approach and work to reduce escalation, stressing that it is continuing its tireless consultative efforts with all member states of the Intergovernmental Authority for Development (IGAD) in order to reach the ultimate goal of finding a way out of the crisis.
