The Ethiopian Minister of Water and Energy is on an important visit to Djibouti

The Minister of Energy in charge of Natural Resources, Yunus Ali Gedi, and the Minister of Agriculture, Water, Fisheries, Livestock and Fisheries, Mohamed Ahmed Awala, received a large delegation headed by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Water and Energy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Dr. Sultan Willi Ahmed, who is on a working visit to Djibouti for several days.
The meeting between the two Djiboutian ministers and their distinguished guest focused on the friendly relations and bilateral cooperation between the two countries and ways and means of enhancing them, especially in the fields of energy and water.
Among the topics discussed by the two parties was the project to establish a second electrical interconnection line between Djibouti and Ethiopia and solving the problems inherent in using the first electrical interconnection line between the two countries.
Also discussed was the Ethiopian Electric Power Company's use of the multi-purpose port of Doraleh to transport equipment and materials related to the installation of the Asila Wind Farm in Ethiopia and the cross-border water supply project or drinking water supply between Ethiopia and Djibouti (especially with regard to the electrification of the network and wells).
At the conclusion of their discussions, the two parties agreed to intensify their efforts in order to realize all the energy and water projects currently being implemented in the country.
