
Cooperation agreement between the National Human Rights Committee and the International Organization for Migration

Last Thursday, the National Human Rights Committee and the International Organization for Migration signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening partnership in protecting human rights and supporting migrants. The agreement was signed by the Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee, Mr. Ali Sobna Ateh, and the representative of the International Organization for Migration, Ms. Tania Pacifico.
This Convention strengthens the protection of the fundamental rights of individuals, in particular migrants and displaced persons, in a context where migration challenges remain.
Accordingly, efforts will be unified between the two sides to implement joint initiatives aimed at ensuring an environment that respects human rights, while emphasizing the special needs of migrants, their protection, security and integration.
The two sides affirmed their joint commitment to work together to implement programs and projects aimed at enhancing human dignity and ensuring respect for the basic rights of migrants, in accordance with international standards.
