What do you know about the Lisbon Agreement and will Djibouti join it?

Members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly met and discussed Draft Law No. 59 of 2023/Ninth Legislative Assembly, relating to the accession of the Republic of Djibouti to the Lisbon Agreement for the Protection of Appellations of Origin and their International Registration and, in its final form, the Geneva Act adopted in 2015.
Participated in the session, which was chaired by MP Abdel-Rahman Awwala Yassin, and the Minister of Trade and Tourism, Mr. Mohamed Warsmah Dereh.
Following discussions and deliberations between the members of the committee and the Minister of Commerce and his assistants, the committee decided to refer the draft law to the plenary session of Parliament scheduled for Thursday, for unanimous approval, in preparation for its entry into force.
