Scientific symposium at Al Salam Center for Training and Consulting entitled “Islamic Financial Transactions”

Al Salam Center for Training, Research and Consultation hosted a scientific symposium held by the National Sharia Supervision Authority, entitled Developing Islamic Finance.

The activities of this symposium were chaired by the Chairman of the Authority, Mr. Ibrahim Abbad Ibrahim, in the presence of representatives of Islamic banks operating in the national arena, in addition to many scholars, representatives of civil society and other invitees.

The concept of Islamic finance was highlighted, as well as Sharia controls, and the pivotal role played by modern technologies in developing Islamic finance.

The head of the National Sharia Supervisory Authority delivered a speech at the beginning of which he welcomed the participants in this symposium, stressing at the same time the need for those working in Islamic banks in the country to understand and become closely acquainted with the Sharia controls that achieve legal compliance with Sharia-compliant transactions.

He pointed out that the National Authority for Sharia Supervision in Djibouti was established pursuant to a presidential decree issued in November 2015, with the aim of achieving leadership in the principles and provisions of Islamic finance that support the strength of the economy.

He stated that Islamic banks are actively participating in enhancing the provision of banking services in the country, while the Central Bank of Djibouti contributes to developing Islamic banking in Djibouti, through successive reforms to its legal and regulatory framework.
It should be noted that the most prominent goals pursued by the National Islamic Sharia Supervision Authority are to purify Islamic financial workers working in Djibouti from usurious impurities in light of the provisions of Islamic Sharia.
