Le ministre des Affaires étrangères participe avec l'ambassade américaine à sa célébration du Jour de l'Indépendance

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and official spokesman for the government, Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssef, participated in an official ceremony held by the American Embassy in Djibouti on the occasion of the 248th anniversary of the Independence Day of the United States of America.
At the beginning of this ceremony, the American and Djiboutian national anthems were played.
In his speech on this occasion, the head of Djibouti’s diplomacy highlighted the depth of the friendship and partnership existing between Djibouti and the United States of America, reiterating Djibouti’s readiness to continue expanding the areas of this multidimensional partnership, rooted in history.
For his part, the Charge d'Affaires of the American Embassy said, Thank you for joining us and participating in the celebration of the 248th anniversary of American independence. Our tradition in Djibouti is to celebrate in the cold weather of February instead of on the Fourth of July, when the heat makes being outside less fun.
As a result, the U.S. Embassy in Djibouti has the distinction of being the first U.S. embassy in the world to celebrate American Independence Day every year. The theme we chose this year is “Everyday Partners, Everyday Champions.” It is intended to honor people who, through their daily efforts, contribute in extraordinary ways to our achievements.
We thought it was an appropriate way to reflect on our national celebration as well as to describe the enduring partnership between the United States and Djibouti, because it is the heroic actions our citizens perform every day that build our shared future.
