The President of the Republic receives the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation

Yesterday, the President of the Republic, Mr. Ismail Omar Guelleh, received at the Presidential Palace the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, Mr. Ignazio Cassis, who arrived in the country on a visit aimed at adding a new dynamism to bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
In this regard, the talks during the meeting between the President of the Republic and the Swiss diplomat focused on areas of cooperation of common interest between the two friendly countries and peoples, including economic and trade cooperation, especially since Djibouti, thanks to its strategic location, can be an important gateway for Swiss products and goods to emerging markets in the region.
The talks also discussed the possibility of intensifying cooperation between the two countries in the fields of services, tourism and science, especially in combating climate change, in addition to exchanging experiences in the field of promoting peace and regional stability.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the official spokesman for the government, Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssef, the Ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti to the Swiss Confederation, Mrs. Khadra Ahmed Hassan, the diplomatic advisor to the President of the Republic, Mrs. Fathia Jamaa Aden, and the Director of the Department of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mehdi Absieh.
