This name does not mean anything to the younger generations but to the older generations, he is a gentleman who left his mark on the Djiboutian education system. Teacher, professor of history and geography, then coach.
It was particularly concentrated in the mid-1960s in the primary school in Tadjoura, and in several primary and middle schools in the capital, and most recently in the regular school in the 1980s.
He also contributed to the development of many textbooks such as history, geography, and Djibouti history books for educational purposes.
Among his former students we can mention among others the current President of the National Assembly, Mr. Dilita Mohamed Dilita and Mr. Abdi Elmi Al-Ashqir, the former Minister and current CEO of the Multi-Sectoral Regulatory Authority of Djibouti.
He arrived in Djibouti in October 1965 and taught for two years at Tadjoura Primary School. Afterwards, Jacques Trampont continued to teach in several schools in Djibouti, while resuming his studies and becoming a history and geography teacher at the technical college and high school. He was also asked to teach at a teacher training school, where he contributed to the creation of the first geography textbook for Djibouti.
For 14 years, he taught history and geography at a teacher training school, while working on the history of Djibouti and co-creating textbooks.
