Discussing the new World Bank report on the Djiboutian economy

The Center for Leadership and Entrepreneurship hosted a meeting to discuss the new World Bank report on the Djibouti economy under the title “Djibouti Outside Ports and Military Bases: A Path to Prosperity for All,” in the presence of the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Elias Moussa Douala, and the Minister of Social Affairs and Solidarity, Mrs. Olofe Ismail. Abdo, the Minister of Housing, Mrs. Amna Abdi Aden, members of the diplomatic corps accredited to our country, the representative of the World Bank in Djibouti, Mrs. Fatou Fall, and the CEO of the Sovereign Fund of the Republic of Djibouti, Dr. Salim Feriani.
The report highlights the economic potential and confronting the increasing challenges of climate change. The report also emphasizes the government’s proactive approach in addressing these challenges through “Djibouti Vision 2035” and the National Development Plan for the years 2020-2024. .
In his speech, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Elias Moussa Douala, said, “Djibouti has achieved remarkable economic growth over the past two decades thanks to strategic investments in infrastructure, the country’s distinguished location, and political stability in the midst of a turbulent region.
He added, “We firmly believe that Djibouti has greater untapped opportunities and we are working to exploit them, through the third generation of the national development plan.”
