
Opening of a new hydroponic farm in Tadjoura

The President of the Republic, Ismail Omar Guelleh, inaugurated the hydroponic farm in the Tadjoura region, which is expected to create a breakthrough in the field of agriculture in the Tadjoura region, as the project allows for an increase in production by 60% compared to cultivating the soil using traditional methods.
The project includes an agricultural-pastoral area with an annual production capacity of 180 tons of vegetables and fruits, and also includes a goat farm with an area of 34 square meters and consisting of fifteen heads.
Explaining the importance of this innovative agricultural technology, the President of the Republic stated, in an interview with RTD: “The hydroponic system is an effective means of developing agriculture and livestock raising.” In our country, in order to ensure food security to fight poverty, but it is important to monitor monitoring so that this system can produce all its effects for the benefit of the population.
Finally, the head of the Tadjoura Regional Council, Omar Hussein, concluded by saying that we are determined to face the challenges of food self-sufficiency in the region, with complete confidence and reassurance, and declared that our ambition is to make this hydropastoral farm the food basket of the region.
