A massive afforestation campaign in the Ali Sabieh region

The governor of Ali Sabieh Province launched a new campaign to plant hundreds of trees in the streets and roads of Ali Sabieh Province, located in the south of the country.
This ambitious tree planting campaign, which is being implemented with the Regional Council and the Armed Forces, falls within the framework of efforts aimed at preserving the environment, and according to those in charge of the campaign, it is about revitalizing nature and promoting a healthy environment for the region.
This laudable and commendable initiative - which aims to improve the public outlook of the city of Ali Sabieh - embodies the commitment of the regional authorities to take concrete measures to combat environmental degradation.
In this regard, tree planting operations have been continuing for days in the second sector of the city of Ali Sabieh, specifically on the outskirts of the road leading to the border town of Jalila.
The planted trees include different species, such as neem, laman and laurel trees, provided by the Regional Council nursery. These trees will become an integral part of the Ali Sabieh landscape, and will also contribute to restoring the degraded local soil.
The governor of Ali Subeih Province stressed that the success of this tree campaign requires increasing awareness among the region’s residents about the benefits of trees, which are considered a great asset to health and well-being, in addition to enhancing the health of ecosystems.
It should be noted that trees are also an important way to mitigate climate change and improve air quality, making cities healthier places to live.
