The Ministerial Committee on the National Disability Strategy holds its annual meeting

The Ministerial Committee concerned with implementing the National Disability Strategy held its annual meeting the day before yesterday, Sunday, under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, Mr. Abdelkader Kamel Mohamed, and in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. Najib Abdullah Kamel, and the Director General of the National Agency for Persons with Disabilities.
The attendees reviewed the action plan of the National Disability Strategy, in addition to highlighting the tangible progress in the social and economic inclusion of persons with disabilities, which has become possible thanks to the many reforms that have been made for the benefit of persons with special needs to enable them to access basic social services such as health and education.
The National Agency for Persons with Disabilities team presented recommendations that help collect data to form the necessary monitoring and evaluation indicators to readjust the action plan in order to achieve the desired goals.
On the other hand, the meeting represented an opportunity to address the challenges related to establishing an interoperable system, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme, the Ministry of Labor, and the National Agency for Persons with Disabilities,
This step comes within the framework of efforts to improve coordination between departments in order to achieve consistency in the effectiveness of implementation, and the need for cohesion through the involvement of the National Statistics Agency in organizing vaccination prevention and disability awareness campaigns at the national level.
At the conclusion of this meeting, members of the government expressed their appreciation to the National Agency for Persons with Disabilities and its collaborators for their firm commitment to the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the process of social and economic development.
In his speech at the opening session of this meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his hope that this meeting would come out with concrete recommendations and firm commitments from everyone in their fields of expertise to support the National Agency for Persons with Disabilities and its employees.
