The President of the Republic receives the former Sudanese Prime Minister

As part of attempts to resolve the Sudanese crisis, the President of the Republic, Mr. Ismail Omar Guelleh, received yesterday, Wednesday, the 3rd of January, at the Presidential Palace, the former Sudanese Prime Minister and Head of the Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces, Mr. Abdullah Hamdok.
Mr. Hamdok's visit to Djibouti falls within the expanded consultations with all sensitivities and political and military forces of Sudan led by President Guelleh, head of the current session of the Intergovernmental Authority for Development (IGAD), with the aim of reaching a solution to the crisis in this brotherly country, which has been witnessing a bloody conflict since last April.
The discussions held by the former Sudanese Prime Minister with the Prime Minister focused mainly on identifying complementary methods of trust between the main parties in the Sudanese crisis, especially Major General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, with the aim of finally implementing the upcoming meeting, in preparation for the cessation of hostilities, which is They had previously agreed to it in principle.
The scope of the talks was then expanded to include the nature of the multifaceted support that the Sudanese civil democratic forces could provide to President Guelleh, the current head of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), in his efforts to help the sisterly Republic of Sudan return to the path of peace and stability.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssef, the Djiboutian Ambassador to Sudan, Mr. Issa Khairi Robleh, and the Director of the Arab World Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Daala Waleh, in addition to the Secretary-General of the Presidency, Mr. Mohamed Abdullah, participated in the meeting.
