On Tuesday, the 26th of December, the Zakat Bureau, affiliated with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, distributed the second batch of sponsorship for the year 2023, to orphans of the Tadjoura and Abakh regions in the north of the country.
About 83 orphans in the Tajjura region benefited from this payment, compared to 82 in the Abakh region, according to what officials from the Diwan Zakat Foundation confirmed.
The distribution process was attended by cadres from the Zakat Office, led by the Deputy Director General of the Corporation, Sheikh Alami Abdullah Atar, along with representatives of the local authorities in the two regions.
Each orphan of the children registered with the orphanage received an amount of 15,000 Djiboutian francs, while representatives of the Zakat Office explained that sponsoring orphans represents great importance in life, and it also brings goodness and stability to the individual and society, stressing that one of its most prominent positive effects is the prevalence of an atmosphere of love and brotherhood among them. members of one community, and reducing the spread of crime.
Sponsoring an orphan ensures the upbringing of a good generation free of psychological problems and complexes, in addition to reducing the phenomenon of street children and its great danger in destroying society and obstructing its progress.
