The Somali Minister of Women and Human Rights died during her visit to Djibouti.

The Minister of Women and Human Rights in the Somali Federal Government, the late Khadija Mohamed Dirieh, died yesterday, Wednesday, in Djibouti, where she was part of the Somali Federal Government delegation participating in the activities of the seventh session of the Somali Intellectuals Forum, organized by the Heritage Institute.
The President of the Republic mourns the deceased:
The President of the Republic praised the late minister, saying: “May God have mercy on her, she always worked for reconciliation, consensus, and strengthening brotherhood.” He added, “She was an icon in Somali public life, and left behind a path full of success. She was distinguished by her extreme humility and her continued commitment to the public interest of her country.”

The President of the Republic expressed his sincere condolences and sincere sympathies to the family of the deceased and all her relatives, asking God Almighty to shower her with His vast mercy, dwell her in His spacious gardens, and inspire her family and loved ones with patience and solace.
About the deceased:
Minister Khadija was a member of the Somali Parliament for 23 years, in the first country that emerged from the Somali Reconciliation Conference in Arta in 2000, and she held ministerial positions in a number of successive governments for more than 15 years.
The late minister was one of the most influential women ministers in Somali politics.
