The Minister of Agriculture meets in Dubai with the Regional Director of the International Fund for Agricultural Development

As part of his participation in the Climate Change Conference held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the Minister of Agriculture, Water, Livestock and Fisheries, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Awala, met with the Regional Director of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Ms. Dina Saleh.
During the meeting, ways to strengthen relations with the International Fund for Agricultural Development were discussed to confront existing challenges and increase investments allocated to residents of rural areas.
Minister Awala also reviewed with Ms. Dina Saleh the aspects of partnership that binds our country with this international financial institution, which is concerned with eliminating hunger and poverty in rural areas.
The Minister of Agriculture and Water took the opportunity to invite the Regional Director of the Near East and North Africa Division of the International Fund for Agricultural Development to participate in the round table meeting that will be held in Djibouti early next year to ratify the National Charter on Food Sovereignty.
It should be noted that the Fund's main goal is to mobilize more resources to help improve food production and nutrition, and for this purpose it provides loans on concessional terms or at low interest rates for projects that have a significant impact on improving food production in developing countries.
