
Discussions between Djibouti and Mozambique in the field of communications

Within the framework of cooperation between our country and Mozambique to discuss the exchange of experiences in the field of information and communications technology, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Information in charge of Posts and Communications, Mr. Ahmed Youssef Elmi, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Innovation, Mr. Abdullah Ibrahim Omar, and the General Director of Djibouti Telecom Company met. Mr. Mohamed Asawiya Bouh, the Director of Information and Communications Technology, Mr. Faisal Khairi, the Director General of the National Institute of Electronics in Mozambique, Mr. Erminio Jassi, and the heads of a number of institutions in the Republic of Mozambique.
The objectives of the two-day meeting were to discuss the exchange of experiences, evaluate the progress achieved, identify challenges, and set new, more ambitious goals.
In a brief speech he delivered at the meeting, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Information indicated that the African continent faces various challenges that hinder its ability to fully exploit the opportunities offered by the digital revolution.
He continued by saying, “For this reason, we are responsible, as actors, for implementing projects that aim to accelerate digital transformation in our countries, while reducing the risks inherent in cyberspace. To achieve this goal, we must rely on a strategy based on solidarity and cooperation.
