The Minister of Economy and Finance in charge of Industry, Mr. Elias Moussa Douala, received, on Saturday, February 2, 2023, in his office, a Chinese delegation, headed by Mr. Li Xiu, accompanied by the Chinese Ambassador to Djibouti, Mr. Hu Bin. The meeting was attended by the Director of the Silk Road International Bank (Silkroad) in Djibouti. Mr. Omar Asawiya Gedi, and the Director of the Inter-Sector Partnership Department, Mrs. Fatima Musa.

During this meeting, the Minister of Economy and Finance discussed with the Chinese delegation the friendly relations and fruitful cooperation existing between the two countries, and ways to strengthen the strategic partnership between them.

The meeting also reviewed the Chinese Development Bank's support for development projects in our country within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Minister Elias Moussa Douala also took advantage of this opportunity to emphasize the distinguished bilateral partnership between the two countries, and the Republic of Djibouti’s commitment to working continuously to maintain and enhance the strategic and win-win partnership to include all areas of development.

For his part, the head of the Chinese delegation stressed the importance of the efforts made by the Djiboutian government, led by the President of the Republic, Haj Ismail Omar Guelleh, to push the wheel of economic and social development towards broader horizons, pledging to keep pace with all the endeavors undertaken by our country in this context.
